The company Crescent Petroleum pointed out in its weekly report that solar and wind energy will account for 45% of renewable energy if investment activity maintains its current level of growth.

The company Kuwait Oil plans to build 15 power plants and substations at the Burgan site with a budget of 315 million dinars. Some of the existing plants will be replaced and new substations will be built. The construction work will be completed in 2018-2019.

Sources from Kuwait’s Ministry of Water and Electricity announced the signing of an agreement for the construction of the main conversion plant, the Z1, in the city of Sabah Al- Ahmad with a capacity of 720MW. This is one of the four plants that will supply electricity to the area. The plant will supply power to 33 substations and its construction will take two years.
