The plan to generate 560 renewable energy projects include: a solar park of 117MW in Tafilah, a solar power plant of 75MW at a cost of US$150 million in Al-Quera, the Ma’an plant of 200MW at a cost of US$360 million, and wind projects in the Al-Feyeich area worth US$200 million plus a solar project in the northwest of the kingdom about which no more information is available. These renewable projects will reduce Jordan’s high electricity bill estimated at 5 billion dinars or the equivalent of 22% of its GDP in 2013.
